ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a detailed look into the processes of FSC forest management auditing. After exploring the main concepts (paragraph 13.1), the chapter will first focus on the auditor and the auditing team (paragraph 13.2), and then looks at the different tasks required when performing an audit (paragraph 13.3). The described auditing approach is detailed, from the initial contact to the reporting phase, going through all the particulars of a field visit. Then, different evaluation types are enumerated and their specificities described (paragraph 13.4). Some final considerations are provided in paragraph 13.5.
