ABSTRACT
Before considering this area, it is important to reflect on the results from the Effective Provision of Pre-School Education (EPPE) Project. The findings suggested that ‘what parents do’ is more important than who they are. The findings further suggested that parents who did engage in a number of activities with their children tended to have ‘higher intellectual and social/behavioural scores’ (DCSF, 2008: 9).
