ABSTRACT
It may be useful to start by underlining an important difference between the viewpoint I am going to take and that of many moral philosophers. I do not believe in natural rights, laws, or liberties; by which I mean rights, laws, or liberties that are independent of any community or society. 1 accept that people may have rights, but these rights are created by, and are nugatory without, a moral community.
