Challenges and opportunities in the implementation of the Supplementary Protocol

The Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress (Supplementary Protocol) is the product of long and difficult negotiations, beginning in 2005 and culminating in its adoption in 2010 in Nagoya. With the adoption of the Supplementary Protocol, the challenges of implementation must be confronted.
