ABSTRACT

Any or all of the above can arise and cause an intern to adjust, add, and/ or delete planned activities. The intern should determine and schedule periodic assessment of the progress and plan. Formative evaluation should be completed monthly or more often, if needed. This should be a combination of self-evaluation and supervisor observation. It is recommended that after self-evaluation on progress and accomplishments, the intern meet with his or her supervisor and collaboratively discuss the quality and quantity of intern activities undertaken thus far and timelines for completing the remainder of the planned activities. The discussion should include gains in knowledge, skill, and disposition and effects on learning and school improvement. The formative evaluations should note any changes to the plan and include brief explanations of the circumstances and rationales for changes. A summary of the formative evaluations, noting progress and changes, will be presented at the final internship report.
