ABSTRACT
The idea of temperament is not socially dangerous, even though the concept of inherent temperamental differences, like a speck of dirt on a fresh snow field, mars the democratic ideal by implying that some children are lightly burdened before the race of life begins, while others start with a tiny unfair advantage.
