ABSTRACT

Amy Richlin is Professor of Classics at the University of Southern California. She is the author of The Garden of Priapus: Sexuality and Aggression in Roman Humor (rev. ed. Oxford University Press, 1992), editor of Pornography and Representation in Greece and Rome (Oxford University Press, 1992), and co-editor of Feminist Theory and the Classics (Routledge, 1993). She is at work on a book on the love letters of the young Marcus Aurelius and his teacher, Cornelius Fronto, and has just completed a translation of the letters.
