ABSTRACT

The tragedy of 9/11 helped me to appreciate the need for psychosocial skills and interventions with my physically disabled clients, my friends, my family members, and all of who were affected by this disaster, Returning to work on September 12, the day after, was helpful to some of the people that were mentioned above, but personally, I found it difficult to work. In my roles as an Occupational Therapist, friend and family member. I found myself needing to provide psychosocial direction and/or intervention to many of the people I encountered on a daily basis, but I too needed time to heal myself in order to be effective with others.
