ABSTRACT

I’ve been reflecting on our last three Passover Seders and on my evolution from the Super Jewish, Super Feminist Super Mother who created a Super Seder in 1997. I was simultaneously nursing Andrea, my infant daughter, and dashing over to check and serve the kneidele, matzo balls, made from Granny Esther’s recipe. At the same time I was trying to nourish our souls, orchestrating readings from the Haggadah with carefully inserted references to female characters such as Miriam, and the midwives Shifra and Puah, who attended Jocheved, mother of Moses.
