ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a picture of the rich relationship between rural migrants of the Global South and the urban land and landscape they occupy to produce their organically evolving settlements. It explores the cultural values embedded within the informally planned landscapes of the urban poor, highlighting how these are undervalued by authorities.
