ABSTRACT

For a microworld practice field to be of greatest value it needs to be constructed so as to combine meaningful cultural and national issues with realistic interpersonal dynamics. This chapter examines

how two microworld practice fields-Foodcorp, International and Globalcorp-accomplish the task of creating a global village. Both are management development tools that are best thought of as behavioral simulations (not computer simulations) that create a realistic context for people to interact on business and global issues.
