ABSTRACT

Benjamin Franklin was born in 1706 and died in 1790. He was a statesman, inventor, and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He was the fifteenth child of Josiah Franklin, a first generation English immigrant, who settled in Boston and became a tallow, soap, and candle maker. Although Josiah’s trade kept him extremely busy, he was quite involved with his family and proved to be judicious in his dealings with his son Benjamin.
