ABSTRACT

Bing Crosby, 1903–1977, was an idolized singer, performer, and actor whose social persona far outshone his harsh private demeanor. He had a rich bass-baritone voice, which helped propel him into fabulous wealth. He was, in truth, a ruthless patriarch who was both distant and absent from his four sons. Gary Crosby, Bing’s eldest son, was driven early to alcohol and struggled mightily to overcome his paternal struggles.
