ABSTRACT
The ostensible subject of this essay is the building known as the Baltic Exchange. It was erected in London at the start of the twentieth century and blown up by the Irish Republican Army (IRA) in 1992. The salvaged remains were recently bought by two Estonian businessmen with the intention of reconstructing the building in Tallinn. The structure is now in Estonia, although construction work had not yet begun at the time of writing.
