ABSTRACT

After mastering basic laparoscopic techniques such as tissue handling, intracorporeal suturing, and optical facility with 0° and 30° telescopes, operations that are more difficult can be performed using a minimal access approach. This includes many operations on the small and large bowel. This chapter reviews some advanced laparoscopic procedures such as colon resection and also some of the problems encountered during operations such as closure of an iatrogenic enterotomy.
