ABSTRACT
Food ingredients go through a complex distribution process before they are purchased by food companies and processed into products. Once there is an outbreak of mass food poisoning, its cause may lie in a raw ingredient produced in an unexpected place, and identifying the cause is extremely difficult. Food companies carry out daily tests for microorganisms in raw materials, manufacturing processes, and final products, in order to prevent harm due to microbes.
