ABSTRACT

Genocide is critical to the prevention of future crimes against humanity and to the development of attitudes that foster respect for all human rights. The seed of genocide is sown in the abyss of the worst type of discrimination and differentiation that considers victims as less human; as people who do not deserve to live. The international community must support research to discover how genocide develops and how to prevent it. Governmental and nongovernmental organizations must collaborate in developing models and policies towards early warnings and the prevention of mass murder and genocide. The perpetrators of genocide are encouraged by the genocidaires to rape women, children, and even men. There are many formal pieces of international human rights law and of international humanitarian law related to genocide. Human rights law is the body of law that protects a person's basic human rights.
