ABSTRACT
Past research indicates that there are challenges that hinder the effective monitoring and evaluation of food security interventions because of its complex nature. This chapter aims to provide elements that are essential to enable effective monitoring and evaluation as well as to determine the extent to which policies and programmes achieve the intended results. Policymakers depend on accurate indicators that provide an understanding of the context within which policies are implemented.
