ABSTRACT

The need for collaboration, coordination and cooperation has evolved to an advance level of considering multi-stakeholder partnerships to be reflected in institutional architecture. The stakeholders categories include public sector, private sector and civil society. This chapter presents different elements to assess the coordination process. The first part looks at the benefits/advantages and the challenges faced by coordination mechanisms. Second, the Inclusive Sustainable Partnerships for Development (ISP4D) Framework provides a logical and cascading effect when more stakeholders and coordination are included in line with the partnership and sustainability aspirations. Finally, the results, process and enabling environment-oriented criteria are indicated to guide assessments of institutional effectiveness in coordinating food security efforts.
