ABSTRACT

In recent years, nanoemulsions (NEs) have gained more attention in the area of drug delivery because of their ease in production, high solubilization capacity, spontaneous formation, thermodynamic stability, enhanced stability of the encapsulated drug, high absorption rates, and ability to encapsulate both hydrophilic as well as hydrophobic drugs. This chapter focuses on structure, formulation of NEs, preparation methods, characterizations, evaluation parameters, patent, and application of NEs in drug delivery.
