Introduction

This chapter looks at intractable conflicts discussed in the eleven chapters in this volume, within the frame of a large contemporary political economy. It argues that the contours of transformative action can emerge in the course of standing up to exhaustion of transformative possibility of progressive policy, forward-looking legislation, and radical left mass movements.
