ABSTRACT

The work describes an advanced method of the determination of dynamic forces, acting on bogie elements and on rails during running performance testing or in operation. High accuracy of calculations is provided by excessive system of strain gages on the object and on the subsequent application of pseudo-inverse matrix calculations. Application of the method is shown using the example of the side frame and the bolster of 18-9855 bogie–the work shows the algorithm for arranging of strain gages and the results of the performed tests. Comparison is also performed between old and new methods of measuring the vertical and lateral forces acting on rails.
