Study on the vibration causing rail corrugation
The vibrations of the low rail were measured after just rail grinding and before absorbers being assembled, after just rail grinding and after absorbers being just assembled, and after the absorbers being used for one year. The overall analysis of the vibrations was performed based on the Power Spectrum Analysis. Results show that there are several dominant frequencies in vibration of the low rail, but only the vibration of a specific dominant frequency could lead to rail corrugation. The de tailed analysis of the vibrations was performed in terms of the time-frequency analysis. Results show that the vibration corresponding to a special dominant frequency is the maximum in magnitude at the wheel-rail contact point. Why only the vibration component corresponding to a special dominant frequency can lead to rail corrugation is discussed. The vibration phase fixing mechanism was proposed.
