ABSTRACT

A new Center for the collection and dissemination of information on conservation tillage farming techniques began operation in January of 1983. The establishment of the Center, called the Conservation Tillage Information Center (CTIC), culminated nearly 18 months of effort by an ad hoc group repesenting the agricultural industry, government agencies, private foundations, professional organizations, and the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD). The Center is being administered by the National Association of Conservation Districts as a special project, and is a cooperative venture between a number of private agricultural industries, the US Department of Agriculture, and the US Environmental Protection Agency. The Center is establishing a computerized abstract library to assist inquirers in locating sources of publications. The Center will utilize the facilities of NACD's Film Service Library in League City, Texas, to make slide tapes, movies and other audio-visual materials on conservation tillage obtained by the Center available to the public on a rental basis.
