ABSTRACT

The objective of this development work was to test the feasibility and efficiency of reliability engineering methods, used in process- and energy-technical applications, for improvement of the reliability of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. The main emphasis of this applied technological research project was put on high-requirement air-conditioning systems serving industrial clean rooms. In these clean-room processes a HVAC-disturbance may lead to a considerable production damage and economic loss.
