The development and supply of safe nutraceuticals and functional foods is the new emerging area in global food industries as it tends to improve healthcare and boost health status. The Indian continent produces a huge number of medicinal spices, herbs, fruits, and trees, therefore India has become a major producer as well as supplier of nutraceuticals and functional foods. New merchandise can be developed by the acknowledgment of variation in the composition of nutraceuticals and functional foods. The organosulfur compounds are a group of functional compounds derived from plant-based foods, including various vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, onion, garlic, and Brussels sprouts. The utilization of the functional abilities of certain foods in the prophylaxis, cure, or management of various diseases has become a novel trend supported by ­significant positive clinical outcomes. Reducing salt intake is also a very important factor that is well supported by clinical evidence for a healthy cardiovascular system.
