ABSTRACT

The reviews mentioned in the Introduction are excellent places to begin finding information about nematodes associated with maize (Norton, 1983, 1984; Todd, 2016; Rivoal and Cook, 1993; Swarup and Sosa-Moss, 1990; Windham, 1998). I also recommend consultation of Ferris’ (2016) comprehensive nematode-host database, NEMABASE (in the list below), which contains references for 128 species of plant-parasitic nematodes associated with maize, along with a number of references for genera only. Norton (1984) considered the following nematodes to be possible maize parasites, but with little evidence to support the supposition: Aglenchus agricola, Anguina tritici, Aphelenchoides arachidis, Scutellonema brachyurum and Subanguina radicicola.
