ABSTRACT

This chapter examines how classical Indian dance aesthetics are remixed for a digital, internet-dominated world by analyzing LDR by Revanta Sarabhai and Super Ruwaxi: Origins by Cynthia Ling Lee and Shyamala Moorty of the Post Natyam Collective, two contemporary performance works that intersect mediatized and live elements. These performance works may be seen as intermedia pieces that remix classical repertory and techniques for alternative uses while expanding the notion of natya, which traditionally integrates dance, theatre and music as interdependent elements, for a deterritorialized and mediatized world.
