Women’s rights and NGOs in post-uprising Egypt

This chapter looks at women’s rights and NGOs in post-uprising Egypt analyzing their activities during successive Egyptian governments. It surveys the state–NGO relations in transitional Egypt looking at the government’s policies on NGOs activities. The chapter first gives a brief overview of women’s rights in Egypt. In a next step, it deals with the NGOs and women’s rights NGOs in Egypt. This is followed by the analysis of the state–NGO relations and activities of women’s rights NGOs in post-uprising Egypt.
