ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Route choice behavior is an interesting topic in the transportation area. Metro systems have become a great solution for meeting the emerging traffic needs of large cities. The arrival of metros indeed indicates the development strategy of a country. Given the ‘origin to destination’ pairing of a metro trip, there are often multiple routes between such pairings. Different routes are chosen by passengers with different preferences, and such preferences have always been a point of interest in the transportation area. The data in this study has been collected from passenger smart cards. This analysis will help operators to improve their passenger service, and will also help passengers to plan their journeys.
