ABSTRACT

One of the important engineering tasks in design and development of any technical system is reliable engineering. Traditional reliability analysis has been found to be insufficient to handle uncertainty of data. For this reason, the fuzzy reliability concept has been introduced and formulated in the context of fuzzy measures. Wang and Li provided extended operations of interval-valued fuzzy numbers and proposed the concept and properties of the similarity coefficient of the interval-valued fuzzy numbers. Cai et al. pointed out that fuzzy reliability can be physically interpreted as the probability that no capable performance decline occurs in a predefined time interval. Fuh used level (?, 1) interval-valued fuzzy numbers to evaluate the fuzzy reliability of systems. The reliability of receivers and transmitters are in the form of different types of level interval-valued fuzzy numbers.
