ABSTRACT

If Rude’s (2004) reconceptualization of the canon of delivery is extended outside the realm of public policy, delivery considerations would include the ways that a text interacts with other texts within genre ecologies of business activity. Through this interaction, contemporary businesses are able to accomplish complex rhetorical goals. This chapter argues that white papers are an ideal assignment within business communication courses to allow students to practice the creation and coordination of texts within this expanded sense of delivery.
