ABSTRACT
Industry 4.0 has significantly changed production systems through processes, design, operations and services. This chapter discusses the fundamental changes in the organisational processes in one of the most relevant results of Industry 4.0: the smart factory. TPV Ltd. is the subject of the case study; in addition to its core business, the firm is focused on R&D technologies for smart factories. The purpose of the study was to go beyond solely the industry view of Industry 4.0 and explore other aspects. In addition, the authors of this chapter attempt to explain the fundamental importance of computerisation, digitalisation and informatisation and to highlight the importance of the awareness of change in businesses across the time and its influence on their ecosystems.
