ABSTRACT

The edition of the bilingual (Greek-Coptic) stela of Bishop Joseph, discovered in Old Dongola in 2004. Stefan Jakobielski is responsible for the description of the find and its archaeological context as well as for the reflections on its historical and religious context that occupy the final section. The presentation of the text and the philological commentary are due to Jacques van der Vliet.
