ABSTRACT

The global rice demand is continuously increased. Asia is the largest rice consumer with more than 90% of the world’s rice consuming population. It was estimated that by 2035 the milled rice production should be increased up to 105 million t to satisfy the growing population of world rice consumers (IRRI, 2017). Nonetheless, the statistical data from 1990 to 2000s shows a trend of decline, from 2.73 to 0.88% (Zhu et al., 2010).
