ABSTRACT
This chapter argues that labour ‘informality’ is a ‘choice’ exercised by capital that forms the basis of the regime of capitalist accumulation. Also, informality as a political choice has been exercised by the regulatory state to facilitate capitalist accumulation in the current phase of globalisation.
