ABSTRACT

Lima was a wonderful place to be during the 1960s. The church was led by a young cardinal, a Franciscan friar, committed to the understandings of church that emerged from the second Vatican Council. Public speaking has been important to the development of my theological thought. Mujerista Theology also includes one of PhD comprehensive examinations turned into an article, 'Solidarity: Love of Neighbor in the Twenty-First Century'. The first part of the book, 'The Personal is Political', includes three autobiographical articles in an attempt not only to identify my subjectivity but also to indicate the role subjectivity plays in theology. The second part, 'In God's Image: Hispanas/Latinas and Our Struggles', includes articles in the four areas that the author have been working on lately: reconceptualizing differences as richness, not divisive factors; a philosophical-theological elaboration of lo cotidiano, the everyday; the role of emotions in ethics; and reconciliation as an intrinsic element of justice.
