ABSTRACT

In this book, we examined how China’s foodgrain and feedgrain demand and supply had evolved since 1990 and how such changes would impact on China’s grain trade in the era of its WTO membership. In this final chapter, in Section 13.1 we summarise major findings and conclusions from our study and discuss their implications. In Section 13.2 we address remaining and emerging issues concerning China’s grain economy. Finally, in Section 13.3, we draw attention to the fact that China’s grain issue is here to stay and a concerted effort from all concerned is imperative to help China achieve a stable grain demand and supply.
