ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a general model of multi-agent simulation based on the definition of computational agents that represent individual organisms (or groups of organisms) in a one-to-one correspondence. As an illustration of this general model, we describe both a generic multi-agent simulation tool called EMF and its first instantiation, the simulation of an ant colony.
