ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to add to our understanding of how the non-physical, virtual or internet world can be designed to enhance well-being. Specifically, it explores the role of emotions in well-being and how they can be influenced by our online activities. It introduces and examines ideas relating to e-coaching and how e-coaching can prompt self-reflections of different emotional valences which impact upon general self-efficacy and subjective well-being (flourishing). It introduces concepts and terminology in relation to well-being and analyses the impacts of the different approaches, including ideas and processes to foster self-efficacy and increase levels of positive well-being.
