ABSTRACT

This study examined the possible ways of using the virtual museums – VMs (museums with digital equipment/museum websites/online museums/virtual museums), to encourage student learning and to effectively support learning innovation of English language formal education in Secondary Music School and Secondary Ballet School in Serbia (age of 14–18 years). In order to correctly frame the adaptation of VMs for educational purposes, different types and examples of VMs are briefly presented. The results of previous research suggest that all types of VMs can contribute to foster the students’ motivation and effectively engage them in the learning process. In conclusion, virtual museum websites can provide supplemental learning resources for achieving the learning outcomes set out in the lessons of English as a foreign language.
