ABSTRACT

Survival of an industry is dependent on the task that how best you are producing/selling for lesser price. Industries will always work on optimizing the inputs to get the better results or outputs. Optimization is the best tool used on the production side to obtain the best manufacturing conditions. There are many optimization techniques that are available to apply to the required task. Grey relational analysis (GRA) is one of best technique to get the best results. The main aim of this chapter is to get the best set of input values, that is, discharge current, pulse ON time, pulse OFF time, and powder concentration to determine the variation in the performance measures such as material removal rate, surface roughness, and tool wear rate when working on titanium Ti-6Al-4V. The L27 orthogonal array has been taken to design the experiments on powder-mixed electric discharge machining by 248considering the B4C as the powder, which is mixed in dielectric fluid. The analysis has been made using GRA and Taguchi method. Finally, the results are reverified and percentage of error is calculated.
