ABSTRACT

Infrastructural system has a strategic and fundamental role for the economic development of a society but it is also one of the sectors that surely produces the greatest pressures on the environment and landscape with reduction of their value and, in the time, of the quality of citizens life.

In context such as megacities in China (such as Shanghai), spatial planning decisions reinforced a strong car oriented approaches. Starting from the results obtained in Shanghai in 2015, the authors present experiences about multilayer infrastructural theme as innovative and efficient urban planning to solve safety and healthy problems.

For the safety, multilayer infrastructural planning approach can ensure a more flexible distribution of displacement opportunities and alternatives to transfer vehicles within the city depending on their destinations.

For the healthy, the use of innovative materials can help to solve the problem of urban pollution the pollution-reducing (photocatalytic materials as titanium dioxide TiO2).
