ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author examines an under-discussed connection on campuses – the relationships between women’s centers and sororities. The end goals, practices, and socialized behaviors of women’s and gender centers and Panhellenic sororities appear to be in opposition. Indeed, on some campuses, the relationships may be antagonistic or strained, at best. This analysis and model provides a path for centers to consider the possibilities and pitfalls of building collaborative relationships with campus organizations that represent a large body of women.
