ABSTRACT
Robot-assisted minimally invasive cardiac surgery is facilitated by remote controlled telemanipulators that have 7 degrees of motion freedom and an operative console, which provides a high-definition three-dimensional magnified operative field view. Robotics introduced a paradigm shift in cardiac surgery with enhanced patient satisfaction. The advantages of operating through smaller incisions include reduced postoperative pain, quicker recovery, improved cosmesis, and earlier return to work.1
