ABSTRACT
This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book presents the case of the Multi-Latina Grupo Familia in Colombia and its chief executive officer who succeeded in making sustainable development the main driver of the company. It presents cases of some organizations championing change by driving sustainable development in Nigeria. The book addresses the complex issues related to ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. It highlights the work of selected organizations, programs, individuals and governments working to advance Sustainable Development Goals and identifies key challenges that lie ahead in dealing with the global issues. The book showcases the notable work of Mahendra Peiris, who helped revitalize the collapsing Sri Lankan tea industry using novel, yet simple, innovative approaches to achieve productivity gains.
