ABSTRACT
Nepali pharmaceutical companies are moving ahead for producing different kinds of medicines. However, the prescribing practices are influenced by unethical promotional practices with consequent effects on rational and fair prescription practices and on individual health. The cost of medicine has been very expensive and poor people have always suffered. The chapter describes government initiatives to control the practice of pharmaceutical companies in Nepal.
