ABSTRACT

213This concluding chapter draws on the examples and evidence from the preceding chapters to propose a model for iterative development platforms and approaches. The Digital Teaching Platform (DTP) model is grounded in learning science and linked with detailed data about the learner, including success measures across multiple time-scales. The DTP model was developed initially for real time K-12 classroom curriculum and pedagogy. Its application to online courses provides an opportunity to monitor teaching and student participation for researchers to more deeply understand the influence of learner context. It also provides an opportunity for researchers to gain through experiments at scale. This chapter presents a research agenda to aid in realizing these opportunities. All this can provide the opportunity for delivery environments to provide measurably better learning at scale, rather than guessing.
