ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on America’s changing relationships with states in the Middle East and its changing perceptions and policies towards regional issues including the Israel-Palestine imbroglio, the “Arab Spring,” the resulting civil wars in Iraq and Syria and the Shia-Sunni region-wide rivalry. We outline briefly the importance of each, America’s recent policies, President Trump’s policy inclinations, and some consequences of these policies.
