ABSTRACT
This chapter seeks to address the processes of displacement around a major urban redevelopment initiative called the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project. It examines the socio-economic impact of the urban development policy and practice on displaced slum households, and provides recommendations that authorities should consider to minimize development-induced livelihood disruptions.
